NCAA Certified Event Requirements and Procedures

All girl's teams in the 9th/10th, 11th/12th and High School Divisions participating in the National Championship and their coaches must be NCAA certified. Below you will find helpful instructions and important information.

Coaches: All coaches participating must be approved through the NCAA Coaches' Approval Program prior to the National Championship. Please be aware that the process may take up to seven business days to complete. DO NOT wait until Coach's Check-In to complete this process. If you do, you risk your team's participation in the National Championship. Entry Fees will NOT be refunded if a team cannot compete due to coach's failure to comply with the NCAA requirements.

The approval process involves the following:

  • Online application
  • NCAA Rules test
  • Criminal background check
  • Payment ($40 prior to June 30th; $55 after June 30th)
To attain coaches' approval follow these steps:
  1. Go to www.primetimesportz.com
  2. Click 2009 National Championship
  3. Click Important NCAA Compliance Info"
  4. Click on "NCAA Coaches Approval Program"
  5. Click on "Apply for Approval"
  6. Follow site directions

Things you need to know:

  • Only NCAA approved coaches are permitted to sit on the team bench during a NCAA certified event. The NCAA requires that this rule be enforced and on-site staff will direct non-compliant coaches to leave the team bench, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Coaches should be prepared to provide event operators with their coaches' approval number at the time of event's team registration and possibly upon check-in at each event.
  • If you applied and were:
  • Certified at any time during the year 2007 you will need to re-apply in 2009
  • Certified in 2008 you will need to re-apply in January 2010
  • Certified in 2009 you will need to re-apply in January 2011
