Upcoming NCAA Certified Events
PrimeTime Sports is excited to announce our upcoming NCAA certified events. Since these tournaments are within the NCAA "live" dates, Division I, II, III and Junior College coaches are allowed to attend and observe prospects.
To be a certified event, teams and participants must also meet certain NCAA requirements. These requirements must be completed by all teams in the 9th/10th grade, 11th/12th grade, and High School Team divisions. The following 3 steps MUST be completed by every team:
- Coaches that sit on the team bench must complete the NCAA Coaches' Approval Program and be approved.
- Team must register with the NCAA Basketball Online Certification System.
- All players must attend the Mandatory Educational Session.
Additional information and website links for these requirements can be found below. If you have any questions regarding our upcoming tournaments or the NCAA regulations and the team compliance requirements, please contact our office at 972-355-3788.

NCAA Basketball Certification System
All teams participating at a NCAA certified fall event must register online prior to reporting to participate in the event. Coaches are expected to keep their online rosters updated. The same address and telephone number cannot be utilized for multiple athletes. Failure to register or to submit all required information will result in the team being denied participation in all NCAA certified events. Be sure to select our tournament so that we can verify that your team has registered and view your team's roster. Click here for instructions on how to use the Basketball Certification System.
The following information must be submitted in the Basketball Certification System for every player:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- Height
- Jersey Number
- High School
- Graduation Year
Coaches Approval Program
All individuals who engage in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified summer event must be approved prior to participation through the NCAA Coaches' Approval Program. Beginning spring 2007, women's coaches are subject to this requirement as well.
The coaches' approval process involves an application, verification of criminal background, authorization for release of information and completion of an educational component. The entire process takes approximately 3 to 7 days to complete. Only NCAA-approved coaches are allowed to sit on the team bench during an NCAA certified event.
Mandatory Educational Session
In order for an event to be certified, an educational session must be conducted for all prospective student-athletes. The mandatory educational session will be given to all players 45 minutes prior to their first game time at the site of their first game.
Contact with NCAA Coaches
NCAA coaches are prohibited from having contact with a prospect or the prospect's parents, family, coaches, and/or any other individual associated with the prospect as a result of his/her participation in basketball. NCAA rules prohibit NCAA Division I men's basketball coaches from having contact with these individuals from the time the team reports for travel to the competition until the team has completed travel home from the competition and released. NCAA rules prohibit NCAA Division I women's basketball coaches from having any type of communication during the entire July evaluation period.
