The 9th Annual PrimeTime Preseason Challenge kicked off last weekend in The Colony and Dallas, Texas.

Featuring 66 teams — up from eight in 2014 — from the U-7 to U-12 age groups, the Challenge was a great warmup for PrimeTime's league play, which begins on August 29th and 30th.
Teams from all over the Dallas area, and a few from out of town, converged on MoneyGram Soccer Park and The Colony Five Star Complex for some sweltering action.
Because of the extreme 100+ degree temps, PrimeTime implemented a mandatory one-minute water break in each half to make sure players and referees were well hydrated. On Saturday and Sunday, DJ Canopy Rentals provided free tents for teams on the sidelines.
"We placed a high priority on the safety of our players, referees and coaches," said PrimeTime Assistant Director of Soccer Dom Falcinelli. "We also made sure no team played more than two games a day to ensure players wouldn't face too much heat."
The heat didn't seem to bother two of the "out of towners."
The Round Rock Rangers U-9 boys took home a championship medal after defeating GSSC Thunder White in PKs, while the South Texas Rebels from Alton, Texas — some 500+ miles away — took 2nd place in the U-7 division.
With regular season league play fast approaching, the Challenge was a great opportunity for teams to dust of the cobwebs and get their players back in shape.
